I bought Danielle's new 2-disc compilation, and thought I'd discuss it a bit. First of all, there are 21 tracks spanning two CDs, with a total playing time of 81 minutes. If just one of the previously-available tracks had been omitted, this could have been a single disc. None of the tracks pre-date INKY BLOATERS and none are taken from BLAST THE HUMAN FLOWER; otherwise, this seems to be the World Serpent equivalent to DARK ADAPTED EYE; buying this along with the other World Serpent Dax releases would bar the need to own DARK ADAPTED EYE. All the tracks from DAE that were unavailable elsewhere can be found here. Also present on this compilation are nine tracks that I didn't previously own, plus a Shock Headed Peters song ("Hate On Sight"). Other newer stuff includes a demo version of "Defiled" (original version from the Sire JUST SAY ROE sampler) and two other noisebound, aggressive tracks. Obviously, I would have preferred a more complete, comprehensive collection; either that, or to have the INKY BLOATERS tracks removed and have the whole thing pared down to one disc. The booklet contains some entertaining photos (of course, have you ever seen a photo of Danielle that ISN'T entertaining?)...
