I read a review of HOL shortly after is was released in Oz, which
stated (possibly even quotes from a Kate interview - but I'm not sure)
that the Ninth Wave was a "Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" style story
about a MAN lost a sea and basically redicovers himself and the love
of his family/wife/lover whatever.  So, I've always thought it to be
about a man, sung by a woman - I've never really had a problem with
that!
