AOL Follies

Non-Kate, but briefly in re Larry's AOL complaints about regulation of
customer behaviour:

There was a story in our local paper last weekend about AOL cutting off a
guy's account because his kid (a) called a moderator a "goofball" or
something similar in a kids' forum (which merited a stern warning from AOL
brass) and then (b) typed and posted a message consisting of a few lines of
exclamation points.

So it seems that THOSE are the sort of "crimes" you must commit to get
kicked off AOL. Not flooding newsgroups with hundreds of messages under
dozens of assumed names (sigh).

Cheers, Fiona
