As I was doing some shopping this weekend, I started to wonder HOW bootleggers get away with what they do....I can imagine how someone could tape a concert they go to, or somehow get early Kate Demo's, and how they could probably get some CD pressing place to press them ( actually, what is done to make CDs, and where is that done? ), but how do they manage to avoid getting caught when they start selling. I would imagine that it would be fairly easy for EMI/Columbia to go to a well known bootleg store ( or mail order through Goldmine ), find out who the suppliers are and press major charges. Is it just not worth their time, or are the bootleggers somehow clever enough to elude? Just my curiousity getting the best of me. -- Stephen G. goldes@cctw13.fw.gs.com
