As an avid rock climber and Kate Bush fan, I was suprised to come across a 5.8 crack climb called Kate's Bush in the Joshua Tree National Monument climbing guide (for those who don't know 5.x rates the difficulty of the climb, going from 5.1 to 5.14d). Apparently, there is a large bush growing out of the rock somewhere along the climb, hence the name. I haven't climbed it yet, but I will next time I go to Joshua Tree just to say I did. Whether or not you question the appropriateness of the name, I thought readers of this group might find it good for a chuckle. Go to your local climbing shop and check the route index in the guide if you want to see for yourself. Later I.
