big stripy lie: wonderful
why should i love u:	eh
you're the one: eh

a few random thoughts:

top of the city bugs me because the piano sound & chords remind me
'and dream of sheep' and kate shouldn't invoke that sort of response
unless she's prepared to follow through on it.

the trio bulgarka is completely wasted on this album - why bother with
them at all? it's like kate made a checklist of 'things that make an
album kate bushy' and threw them in. of course we're missing the
digeridoo, but that's ok, it's become the Annoying Cliche Du Jour in
electronic dance music (which is where i spend most of my time these
days in case you didn't know)

i wish 'why should i love u' (note proper prince-like spelling) kicked
out into full-on prince-like minneapolis mode; it feels very
'restrained' at the moment...

'and so is love' is probably my favorite track just because it's so
downbeat - "life is sad and so is love" basically sums up my entire
existence right there.

love those buzzing noises on 'lily'.

i bought the most recent duran duran album at the same time, and as
far as pure unadulterated pop muzik goes, i think it has many more
moments of pop epiphany than the red shoes. i also bought the brand
new future sound of london single (31 minutes long! some single!) at
the same time and it is so advanced in terms of sound construction and
production, it takes my breath away. wonderfully effective *and*
affective. glad to know SOMEONE is still taking chances out there.

This calls for a very special blend of psychology and extreme violence.
