the first possibility i thought of after hearing the litany of angels
in the chorus was lilith. lilith was, according to some traditions, the
first wife of adam. she proved a wee bit too overbearing for him and
yaweh banished her from the garden of eden and created eve instead.
lilith was said to have mothered demons and monsters afterwards.

needless to say, i doubt this is whom KaTe had in mind.
