never mind all this red shoes biz... check out "pure, impure" by seefeel. they do have a female singer (natch) but her voice is used as an instrument, and i don't even mean that in the cocteau twins sense. the band is really into the "sound sculpture" thing, with lots of guitar samples & loops & effects all swirling around in a beautiful maelstrom of organized noise. volume magazine (which has a feature on them in issue 7) called them a dub version of my bloody valentine. could be, could be. personally, i think that if the aphex twin's remix of "time to find me (afx fast mix)" doesn't convince you, then you're beyond hope. /jon/thinking of calling his next EP `les chausseures rouges'/
