 This is the first formal request for discussion for the establishment of 
 a new newsgroup devoted to the discusion and exchanging of praise music.

NEWSGROUP NAME    
           rec.music.christian.praise

STATUS
	   Unmoderated

RATIONALE
	There is one group on the net that is devoted to christian music.
But the main course of discusion on this group is popular contemporary
music and rock and roll. Many of the people involved with rec.music.christian
feel it is an anoyance to have threads of discusion that don't fit under there
group name. Although praise music is a popular form of music in the
christian realm it does cause a large volume of traffic in that group.
When the idea to start a new group devoted solely to praise music was
brought up in that group I recieved upwards of 50 positive responses to
the idea and 2 negative  responses. Therefore I felt the demand was there
to start a new group. Praise music is the style of music you here when in
church. There is many topics of discusion available under this heading.
And after involving themselves in these discusions people will be able
to play music in a more benificial means.

CHARTER

	 This newsgroup will try to encourage the discussion of popular 
aspects of  christian praise music. It will make an effort at starting 
discusions that will further the musicians ability to play praise music.
No aspect of praise christian praise music will be excluded. Including 
all types of alternaive styles of CHRISTIAN praise music.

CONTENT

	-all styles of christian praise music
	-The exchange of guitar tablature and chords(When not violating 
copyright laws)
	-The exchange of sheet music to all instruments for the use of praise
	-Discusion of musical methods
	-Discusion of praise related topics
	-Discusion of ethics and etiquette in praise music
