While we all await the next KT album I thought I would resurrect the Blade Runner discussion which emerges here from time to time. Fans may be interested to know that the Closing Gala at the London Film Festival on Sunday 22nd November will be "Blade Runner -The Director's Cut". It is described as Ridley Scott's recently completed own cut of the film inwhich he has removed the voice-over narration of Deckard and the "upbeat" ending and added some new footage. There is also an article about this version in the December issue of Sight and Sound (Vol 2 Issue 8). The article suggests (a) that this may not be identical to the version that showed in San Francisco in October 1991, (b) that nationwide exposure will follow, and (c) it may reawaken the "was Deckard a replicant" arguments.
