McLachlan's "excape"

Does it bug anyone else out there that on the first cut on Sarah
McLachlan's "Solace" album (Drawn...Rhythm), she not only distinctly
pronounces "escape" as "excape", but she's written it as "excape" as
well? And she spells "plague" "plauge".

Okay, the plague thing I can understand, but excape?

I'm starting to cringe when I hear it.
