Ken & GLC refers to Ken Livingstone, left-wing leader of the Greater London
Council, a local government thorn in Thatcher's side which was liquidated in
the mid-eighties.

Hammer refers to the Hammer House of Horror, the Studio Bled to Death, a 
purveyor of fine trashy horror movies that had its hey-day from the fifties
to the early seventies, i think.
