Good news! You can order Jane's first album, "Jane Siberry," by mail. A
mail order company called Ladyslipper, Inc. specializes in "women's
music," but they include a lot of music from people who aren't usually
lumped in that category, including Kate and Jane. I ordered the "Jane
Siberry" CD from them; it's not as good as or as sophisticated as her
later stuff, but some parts are fun. It's more spare and folky, but it's
still enjoyable, and is a must for big Jane fans. To order it, call
Ladyslipper at 800-634-6044, or write them at: Ladyslipper, Inc., P. O.
Box 3124-R, Durham, NC 27715. The album is just called "Jane Siberry" and
the catalog number is STR002.  You won't get a great price from them;
Cassettes are $9.98 each, CDs are $15.98. Shipping starts at $2.75 for
one item and goes up about a dollar per item.

Incidentally, if you've never seen her in concert and get a chance to, GO!
I saw her in concert about 3 1/2 years ago and thought it was one of the
top two concerts I've ever been to, vying with an incredible Johnny Clegg
and Savuka concert last year. (Of course, I've never seen Kate in
concert, so I might have to revise the rankings at some point. With any
luck.)

Walking straight down the middle (with occasional skips and jumps from
side to side),
I am, as ever,
Laura Grey
