As you can imagine, this sort of news if far from pleasing and not
something anyone wants to beleive! (ok, not something any kate *fan*
would want to beleive. I know several people who wouldn't give a hoot)

Could you give more details as to your source? Are you refering to a
quote from Kate somewhere? If so, where!? I haven't seen an
interview/article that contains such a thing recently. Did you
speak to the KBC or Homeground or Kate herself?

I'm certianly not going to hold my breath until she tours, but I'd
like to continue thinking it might happen! :)
