in defense of my lyrics blunder on "the handsome cabin boy," i did put a disclaimer in there (something about "what my ears hear"). i just never bothered to check the lyric sheet cos what i heard made sense to me (don't mind me - i'm just being defensive...). anyways...i tend to doubt the KaTe's omission is due to either the homosexual aspect of it or the bawdiness of the song - witness "ran tan waltz" or "wow" as evidence that she does not shy away from this material. i tend to think that it was a length consideration. incidentially, the melody for "the handsome cabin boy" is perfect for the gravedigger's song in _hamlet_. i'm no traditional music scholar, but it seems to be a common beat and melody in the celtic lands. regarding the dead can dance disc, i believe the release date is in late october or early november on rykodisc. there will be two new tracks on this compilation as well. so stay tuned. i suspect that these two tracks will be the same as the upcoming 10" release entitled "bird" on 4ad. nothing confirmed yet though. thanks to :>oug for reposting the love-hound alphabet - i've been trying to piece that together for a year now... woj@remus.rutgers.edu - dj-for-hire/heil erland! - i'm scared of the changes
