In the July issue of _Details_ magazine, Curt Smith writes a rather
interesting article (even to the non-fan like me) about this very
subject.  He has recently left the band, btw.

Also btw, I found this issue of this magazine to be _really_ good --
well written, etc., etc.  I don't know if they're always that good (I
don't think they always have such extensive music coverage -- this was
a special "music" issue), but I'm certainly going to look and see.
