Subject: James Joyce
Ronald Hill (rhill@pnet01.cts.com) posted an interview excerpted from NETWORK, Canada's Entertainment Magazine, Feb/March 1990. In it, Maureen Littlejohn notes that Kate Bush echoes closely Molly Blume's closing soliloquy in Joyce's _Ulysses_. But... did you also know that the Firesign Theater used that same speech in the end of their album, "How Can You Be In Two Places At Once When You're Not Anywhere At All?"? Of course, the effect is slightly *different*... the speaker is that perpetual flimflam artist cum used-car salesman, Ralph Spoilsport... I don't know if this one made it to CD, but it's definitely worth a listen. Edwawrd J. Surani writes... ES> Of course, I can imagine that demand is SO low there that there's ES> not a single copy in the whole state! I would be delighted to be ES> proven wrong, though. Helen (my Arkansan girlfriend) says that she found out about KB in Arkansas in the first place, so there are surprises everwhere. She would also like to add that she's educated not a few Angelenos about Ms. Bush's music. So there. (Wounded Arkansan pride, I suppose...)
