Innocence Mission -- right up your alley, and well liked in general by all
KaTe fans.

Kirsty MacColl -- a difficult recommendation, but you'd probably like her.
None of the "obvious commercialty" of the artists you list in your "reject"
list, that's a plus.  But she deals with so many different styles that it's
hard to predict whether someone will like her.  Still, she's beautifully
produced by husband Steve Lillywhite, and you can't beat her great 6-part
harmonies!
