Gee, I didn't realize it had an actual etymology - I just knew the
phrase as referring to that hangover "cure" of drinking a little bit
more of whatever one had been drinking the night before to drive off a
hangover.

Personally, I think Vyvyan had the right idea when he came downstairs
with a stick of dynamite strapped to his head and said "I have *GOT*
to get rid of this hangover" before pushing the plunger.
