Subject: Roy Harper news - album, live tapes, emigration

I have a few pieces of information of interest to Roy Harper addicts:

1) A new album entitled "Once" is due out (in the UK) on May 21st. It
will be released on Awareness records (AW{CD,L,T}1018 (CD, LP or tape)).
Rumour has it that this will be the strongest album for a long time. I
have heard some of the new material live, and it is good!

2) A "single" entitled "Burn the World" (not from the album) is due out
in the second week of June. This track is Roy's 20-minute protest about
the way we treat our planet. It will be released on CD and 12"
(AWPCD003, don't know the number for the 12").

3) Before the end of the year, an album compiling the best of the
sessions Roy has done for the BBC over the years will be released,
entitled "The Best Of".

4) Two *excellent* official live tapes are available from Roy's agency
(Acorn Entertainments). Both come from concerts at the Red Lion in
Birmingham. I received mine today, and have listened to them both. The
price is 6 pounds each (both C90). If you're interested e-mail me for
more info.

Track listings:
tape 1: Tom Tiddlers Ground, One Man Rock'n'Roll Band,
Me and My Woman, I hate the White Man, Highway Blues,
Elizabeth, Hangman, Old Cricketer, North Country.

tape 2: South Africa, Hallucinating Light, Don't you Grieve,
Highway Blues, Commune, Frozen Moment, 20th Century
Man, I hate the White Man, Another Day, One of those
Days in England (in full!), Hangman.

5) Roy is planning to emigrate, probably before the end of the year, I
think to Norway. He will be doing a farewell tour of Britain before he
goes (and will be back from time to time!). Sad news. To console myself
I have got tickets for all 3 of his London dates at the end of this
month!

I hope somebody finds this useful! Feel free to e-mail me if you want to
know anything more.
