The article from The Absolute Sound makes many negative comments about the sound of "The Sensual World". For the most part, I have to agree with them (I have it on CD). I find the sound to be very flat, dull and lacking in depth. The only exceptions are the last two songs, "This Woman's Work" and "Walk Straight Down the Middle", which sound much better. In fact, I find I enjoy listening to these last two songs more than the others, even though musically they are not necessarily "the best". I don't know whether the poor sound is due to limitations of her studio or of Del's capabilities as a recording engineer, or due to poor mixing. Personally, I would like to see her for the next album record in a professional studio with an engineer other than Del. She could still do the demos at home. -- -- Greg Ward, Bell-Northern Research gregw@bnr.ca "I am using you --- am I amusing you?" - M + M
