A while ago, I asked people to respond to a request for artist names. For
the next Eclectic Music survey. Following the repeat post of the request,
is a current list of the survey. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE SURVEY! THIS
IS A PRE-SURVEY request. (I have posted this to rec.music.gaffa in addition
to the normal newsgroups by request.)

The Request:

A few months ago, I posted a survey with the following instructions:

    Here is a list of artists, Please take this list and chop it to
    pieces, post something pertaining to one of the artists, reply to me
    and I will summarize comments. Never heard of an artist ask the
    world. I can tell you at least a song title to look for by every
    artist on this list. Others probably have more information than I
    do. If you are ambitious, *** I DARE *** someone to just try &
    classify these into various "types" of music.

Well, people responded and I posted a summary of the responses, what had to
say about the artists in the list. After I posted the I got a lot of people
who missed the survey asking if I would doing it again. So comes about the
next Eclectic Music Survey. For starters, I am solicting the readers of the
net for the artists they would like to know about. Here goes:

Please mail me a list of artists you would like to read about. If you have
heard of someone but never heard music by them, if you want to know more
about the artist, if you want to know about some TYPE of music-- you decide.
Send me a list of the artists, types of music, whatever you would like to
read the opinions of the other net-personalities about.

Soon after January 1, 1990 I will post the current list of artist names and
make this request again. About 1 week later, I will post a survey asking
questions about the artists [it may be split into different surveys
depending on the amount of stuff asked.] 

So, if you "missed out" on the earlier survey, you haven't had a chance to
ask "the net world" an opinion, or are interested in adding to the responses
to the last survey, PLEASE E-MAIL datta@vacs.wisc.edu, if you have any
trouble mailing here, then post, I will include stuff I find on the net as
replies to this article [but e-mail is preferred].  PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT
THE SURVEY! THIS IS A PRE-SURVEY request.

I will mail copies of the previous survey results to anyone who wants a copy
[it is LONG]
