Subject: Chart listings for Kate Bush's "The Sensual World" LP
To; Love-Hounds From: Andrew Marvick (IED) Subject: Chart listings for Kate Bush's "The Sensual World" LP "Billboard", November 18, 1989: U.S. Albums chart: up 3 places, from 49 to 46; U.S. Hot Rock Trax chart: up 3 places, from 5 to 2; U.S. Compact Disks chart: down 2, from 16 to 18; U.K. Albums chart (Gallup/Music Week--i.e. sales only): down 4, from 2 to 6); Canadian Albums chart: entered at 19; West German Albums chart: entered at 20; Pan-European Albums chart: entered at 6. "Cashbox", November 18, 1989: Alternative Albums chart: number 2; U.S. albums chart: up 14, from 49 to 35. "NME", "MM", and "Sounds" (the MRIB chart--i.e. sales and radio play): down 9, from 3 to 12. Considering that Columbia Records, in a demonstration of business sense almost criminal for its ineptitude, has _still_ made no effort to promote Kate Bush's new album in the United States in _any_way_ (no instore display material, no single, no 12", no cassette-single, no _NOTHING_), the fact that the record continues to climb in the U.S. album charts, if only a few short places, is quite a testimony to the power of the music itself. -- Andrew Marvick
