Summary: Wow !

This weekend there was a show on the Arts and Entertainment cable
TV channel by film director Ken Russell called something like
"British Music from A to Z". It was part of the Southbank Series.

Anyway, it consisted of an interesting hodge-podge of music,
primarily British twentieth century neo-classical composers.
When it came to B and Russell only mentioned the Beatles and
Benjamin Britten, I was disappointed, although not surprised, that
he had not mentioned Kate. At this point, I half-tuned out the
show and read the paper.

At the letter F, his topic was "Female Composers". He first listed
a woman identified with the sufferage movement whose name escapes me.
However, much to my surprise, he then listed Kate -- and there she
was performing "WOW" !

A great lead-in to this week's epic event.

Note: the copyright of this show was 1987 -- I don't know if it had
aired before in the U.S., although I assume it has been seen in
the U.K.
