Summary: A viable KB alternative.
Karen Peris of the group The Innocence Mission (which has a new self-titled LP out right now) may well be of interest to Kate fans. She's the primary songwriter of the group, she's a keyboardist, and she sounds a little like Kate. It sometimes sounds like Kate is her primary influence. The themes of the songs are KT-esque as well. For instance, one song references dangerous love, one is about a lost identity, and one is a dialogue between an 18th century painter, working in the south of France, and his maid who has fallen in love with him. None of the songs come across as pretentious in the least. Check it out. -- _______________________________________________________________________________ Tony Shepps ashepps@telesci.uucp (...!princeton!telesci!ashepps) "Wherever liberty has existed, it has survived only through strong restraints on government." -- Walter E.
