RE: "What made it special, made it dangerous, so I buried it" Glow in the dark toys containing phosphorus, ones that need to be 'charged up' by exposure to light, have never been dangerous. What WAS dangerous I am told was the practice, of using small amounts of radium in luminescent paint on watch dials and toys. These 'glow in the dark' items glowed continuously without need of exposure to light to charge them. These items were indeed dangerous and were pulled from the market when the effects of radiation became better understood. (My parents have told me stories of both the watch dials, and of a shoe store fluoroscope that would let your see your feet *inside* your new shoes to examine the fit. Heavy X-ray dosage!) Also: KT Watch -- I happened to catch a modern dance routine to "This Woman's Work" on (gag retch) Dave Maynard's Talent Showcase. The performance was not bad considering the venue, but it was somewhat disconcerting to have Kate's work associated with this show, a classic in Bad Taste. It was nice, however, to see an inner-city high-school kid choose this song. There is hope for the future! -- 14159 26535 89793 23845 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510 58209 74944 59230 Internet: champine@apollo.COM *** UUCP: {decvax,mit-erl,yale}!apollo!champine Cogito cogito ergo cogito sum: I think that I think therefore think that I am 78164 06286 20899 86280 34825 34211 70679 82148 08651 32823 06647 09384 46095
