Does she die?

Well, it seems that |>oug is questioning whether or not the main
character (note the word character here, folks) dies at the end
of _The_Ninth_Wave_. |>oug, I ususally agree with your interpretations,
but she's dead dead dead dead dead dead dead, there's no doubt
about it. _The_Morning_Fog_ shows her dying and going to
Heaven/similar afterlife. (See, there's a happy ending after all!)

I also wonder where you get the idea of a submarine being anywhere
in the song. If you're referring to the radio traffic at the end
of _Jig_of_Life_, listen a little more carefully. One of the
voices mentions travelling at nine times the speed of sound. Do
you know what a submarine would do to the ocean around it if
it were going that fast? Also, note the reference to a
trajectory, something subs don't have. Spacecraft, on the
other hand, do have trajectories, and can go that fast. And
since _Hello,_Earth_ is told from a viewpoint in orbit around
the Earth, this makes even more sense.

I'm perfectly willing to listen to other opinions/intepretations,
but this seems the best one to me

We let the weirdness in.
