Well, they started out as New Bohemians, which sounds OK without the "The."
The record company decided they wanted Edie out front for their marketing
ploy... and the rest is history.

They definitely _were_ a band to see in Dallas several years ago.  Really
surprised me when they came out with an album -- they were just a club
band when I left Dallas.  I went to high school with the bass player and
the original drummer.  For more info on their transition, I refer you to
the March edition of _Spin_ magazine.
