Subject: new danielle dax vinyl
The latest in a continuing series of postings from me telling you all
about new pieces of music that you probably don't care about and
wouldn't buy even if it was the last thing in the record store. Ahem.
While wandering around Main Street Records, I found a new Danielle Dax
12". It's called "Cat-House" and features two b-sides: "Touch Piggy's
Eyes" and "House-Cat". The cover is the standard Danielle looking
totally mutant via Holly Warburton's beautiful photo technique (when
is Kate gonna put out an album with such a nifty cover, eh?) The
music is more traditional pop/rock kind of fare, in the vein of most
of the Inky Bloaters LP. It's very good stuff. Real catchy melody.
Also, if you haven't already seen it, there is a pressing called
"Danielle Dax: The Janice Long Session" which I can only assume is
akin to the John Peel sessions (any comments from British LHs
appreciated!) and it features four songs, the titles of which I can't
quite recall. I haven't picked it up as it's approx. $8 for only four
songs.
