Don't know if this item has been reported yet, so here goes nothing.
Noted on WFNX late this evening, and heavily paraphrased courtesy of my
short memory:

An album in support of vegetarianism, to be accompanied by the usual
literature condemning modern meat farming techniques, is scheduled to
be released sometime soon, featuring tracks by Chrissy Hynde, Peter
Gabriel, our favorite planT Konsumer, and others. No song titles were
revealed, nor was any mention made of whether the artists would be
contributing new material or merely reissuing extant recordings.
Kate's apparent lack of vegetarian-themed songs have this L-H hoping
for something new, although I must admit to believing that THAT
possibility is rather slim.

What was clear from the brief notice, however, was that the album will NOT
be available in stores. An address (U.K.) was given for the vegetarian
organization directing the album's production and distribution. Of course,
I'll jot it down if I hear the blurb again.

An aside to IED: in your discography would you consider denoting, to
the best of your knowledge, the media in which each recording were
made available? Format wars, y'know. No, I'm not asking you to list
the "lower-Slobbovia release of Sat In My Lap (the Recumbant Mix) on
green- paisley-over-wood-grained-iridescent-vinyl with lyrics in
hieroglyphs", but we humble CD-only people (read: no turntable) have
no idea what's available to us, and these cassette (and soon DAT)
adherents are springing up like weeds. Help!
