For those of you into Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, and the like, PAY
ATTENTION! Here are your instructions for this week: go to your
nearest import record store and buy Danielle Dax's new album INKY
BLOATERS.

Danielle has a unique sound, especially her vocal style. However,
there are some of the same things going on here as on PG's albums
(especially his third and fourth) and on Kate's albums (especially THE
DREAMING and HOUNDS OF LOVE). Particularly interesting to this PG and
KB fan are Danielle's experimentation with non-western rhythms and her
use-of-the-studio-as-an-instrument techniques. I haven't studied the
album enough to get a good grip on what exactly is going on lyrically,
but after the first listen, it sounds interesting.
