Subject: another Gabriel posting
I recall dimly (this is also from Gallo's book, but from the first edition, not the later revised edition that sez "I know what I like") that Gabriel claimed that he left because: 1) He was being a jerk when they wrote the Lamb. He insisted on writing all the lyrics while the rest of the band wrote the music. When he couldn't finish the lyrics on time, he was very unhappy when they had to help him out (on only 1 or 2 songs). Because of the weird split in the song writing, he would write lyrics over all the instrumental parts and piss everybody else off. 2) When Genesis went on the Lamb tour, Gabriel was the center of attention because of the costumes, theatrics, etc. There was obviously resentment from the rest of the band. Supposedly Gabriel felt bad about being the star. from yet another former Genesis fan (now I worship Diamanda Galas) Bill
