While checking the CD stock at a neighborhood record store, I noticed
the disk of "The Kick Inside," with the "Tammy Wynette" (U.S. release)
cover depicted on the cardboard box. Despite the caveats about U.S.
Kate disks that have appeared here recently, I decided to pick it up
anyway, since it was on sale ($13.95). On the box, it said, "EMI
America, made in America"...but when I opened it, what should I find but
a disk with the "kite" cover (U.K. release), labelled "made in England"!
Hmm, weird. Wonder how that came about? I got an import CD at a
domestic price, in any case! And it sounds great.

The new Husker Du album, "Warehouse: Songs and Stories," is brilliant.
A two-record set for a mere $8.99 ('round here, at least)...and they're
touring with the dB's, of all people (recently signed to I.R.S.).

The new Psychedelic Furs album is mersh but o.k. and it will definitely
be a big teenybopper fave this year. Loads better than the
ultrapathetic "Mirror Moves," anyway.
