Subject: Expt IV Video
Actually, contrary to some earlier posting, this was shown in the UK, probably on No Limits. (I saw it but no longer remember what show it was.) At first I thought it was pretty weak, with random lab coat types doing nothing interesting, but it got better once the deadly sound (Kate) appeared. As videos go, it was quite well done, interesting, etc. But compared to life the universe and everything it was just OK. I'm surprised at some of the recent reactions to Kate's voice since I find it one of the most immediately interesting aspects of her music and far from annoying. But then in my view The Kick Inside and Hounds of Love are easily her two best records (side two of The Dreaming is almost entirely boring) so I don't expect all that many to agree with me. IED, though, must be engaged in deliberate self-parody. Some day, perhaps soon, he'll reveal his true contempt for Kate and have a good laugh at everyone who took him seriously. P.S. I've seen lots of mail about Sue's return but no actual mail from Sue herself. Presumably the usual conspiracies were at work to prevent mail from crossing the Atlantic.
