I'm sure that if Kate named her cats Prancer, Dancer, Vixen, etc. some
symbolism phreak out there in Net-World would necessarily assume a
religious motive arising out of a strict Christian interpretation of
Dec 25. Alternatively, Russ Myers fans would only have to see Vixen and
assume she was enamoured with trashy films and that Prancer-Rudolph were
pseudonyms for characters in the movies. I just cant imagine why someone
would give a nonsymbolic name to a pet. Do people actually waste their time
encoding deep symbolic meaning into everything they do, write or name.
Maybe Kate would produce more (read that original, not 125 remixes of same
cuts) if she concentrated on music as opposed to imposing symbolic
cryptographic essence on everything she does. The story behind the actual
meaning of the bouncing balloons in the Prisoner episodes will surely
come as a let down to people who necessarily read things into things
that just aren't there.
