In case you somehow missed John Hogge's multiple announcements in net.music, the Midwest cultural event of the year is still Live Skull and Savage Republic at Mabel's, Champaign Illinois. Here's one Savage Republic that Greg Earle might not make! Be there or be <fill in your favorite insult>. More fuel to the Cabaret Voltaire fire: hmm, I wasn't going to bring this up for fear of starting another (Bill) Hsuskel and (Peter) Leebert at the record store series, but since Greg Earle already did... I found Red Mecca much more rewarding than Crackdown or Microphonies also. Anyway, there seems to be many good bands doing fantastic industrial dance music these days that just blow Cab Volt's recent stuff away, try Hula, Skinny Puppy and all those bands Doug raves about. Maybe Cab Volt should retire? :-) What does Sue have to say about this? Bill (Please note the new login, path, etc. Mail may take several tries because of the unreliable mailers here.)
