Subject: Gehenna


This is a word in the New Testament used for 'hell'.  There was a valley
of Gehenna nearby to Jerusalem (if I remember correctly) which was
basically a garbage dump, with fires smoldering all the time, and
unpleasant smells.  This is where it came from.
