That's really strange! Roy Harper wrote the lyrics to "Hope" and gave them to David Gilmour for his album. He says that David Gilmour wrote the music for the song, but decided not to put it on his album because he didn't think he could sing the lyrics with the proper conviction. So Roy decided to put it on his own album instead. Maybe he didn't know that Pete Townsend also worked on the music.... -Doug
