There's more to art than just "expression". Banging your head
against the wall or bashing in windows may be forms of
expression, but they are not art. Art is a form of
communication, and in order to communicate with humans, you
have to have some understanding (not necessarily well-defined
understanding -- intuitive understanding is good enough --
probably even better) of the human mind.

Bull. You don't need an understanding of the human mind to communicate
with humans, let alone create (nee "make") art. What makes you think
that there's any more involved in some forms of art (why is, by the
way, bashing windows not art? who made you the art-god? If what is
COMMUNICATED to me by that act (nee "expression") is art, then so be
it. You may not agree, but I'll be damned if I'll let you label it as
non-art) than a releasing of creative energy? Granted, some forms of
"art" use more or less "thought" (nee "understanding"), and some are
more pleasurable for me or you to experience (nee "view"), but they can
be art nonetheless. Who says art is "good" ??!
