John, Elton
(b. Reginald Keith Dwight, 25 March 1947) Composer of the songs Rocket Man and Candle in the Wind, of which Kate has released cover versions. One of Kate's longtime heroes, she once wrote a fan letter to him, delivering it to the BBC because she didn't know where else to send it. Among her many testimonials to Elton: "He was the first great piano player I heard. I wanted to play like him so I used to practice harder."
